Badminton is played both competitively and recreationally in community centres throughout Ireland. The biggest prize in Irish Badminton is the Irish Open, a top International Tournament, which has been running for over 100 years. There are also numerous Individual & Doubles competitions throughout the year, run on a National, Provincial or Local (County) basis

Badminton Premier League (Ireland)
The first season of the Badminton Premier League was in 2015-16, featuring four teams from the four corners of Dublin (Ailesbury Falcons, KADCA Killers, Mount Pleasant Mavericks and Pembroke Panthers). Following seasons have included a fifth Dublin team (South Dublin Panthers), a Leinster representative team (Racket Raptors), and teams representing Munster (Smash Bandits based in Ennis, Co. Clare) and Connacht (Western Warriors based in Galway City, Co. Galway).

Badminton Ireland organizes Graded National Competitions in Men’s, Ladies & Mixed, with those awarded part of Ranking counting towards the National Ranking for Singles & Doubles. The National Governing Body for Badminton in Ireland also organizes the Irish Open, which is an International Tournament.

Community Games Badminton
Community Games is an independent organization orgainizing sports and games for children and teenagers over the summer months in Ireland whenn they are off school. There are local (parish) events followed by County Championships, Provincial Championships and National Championships. Events take place in numerous sports, games and activities like a mini-Olympic Games.
